Youth Professional Development Scholarship
The Australian Association for Adolescent Health (AAAH) with funding support from the Australian Government is offering professional development scholarships for AAAH members aged 12-25 years who are attending the 2024 AAAH Youth Health Conference.
This year we have also set aside one-third of scholarship funds specifically to support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young people to attend the conference.

Financial support for our members, especially young people, is a vital strategy to:

Increase membership engagement

Ensure young people are actively involved and included at AAAH events

Support the professional development of young people
We offer 4 scholarship options:

Conference Registration Scholarship - One Day - financial support to cover 1 day conference registration.

Conference Registration Scholarship - Full Conference - financial support to cover full conference registration.

Conference Accommodation Scholarship - financial support to cover accommodation during the conference.

Conference Flights Scholarship - financial support to cover flights to attend the conference.
Application Process
Applicants must:

Be a member of AAAH aged between 12-25 years

Apply in writing to AAAH by completing the online application form here below

Eligibility
To be eligible for AAAH Professional Development Scholarships, applicants must:

Address all application requirements as set out in the Application Process

Be a current AAAH young person member (young person aged 12-25 years)

Be willing to provide a written reflection report on their attendance and learnings no later than four weeks following the completion of the conference

Applications received after the closing date may not be eligible or considered.
Selection Process
All applications will be acknowledged by email.
AAAH will establish a selection committee and assess each application and select the successful applicant/s. The selection committee may request more information and/or a telephone interview in support of the application if necessary.

The successful recipient/s will be notified by phone or email.

The AAAH Scholarship Committee will be appointed to administer this scholarship process. The members of this group will be drawn from the AAAH Conference Convening Committee.

The AAAH Scholarship Committee will be responsible for assessing scholarship applications against the eligibility and selection criteria and making recommendations to the AAAH Board of Directors and Executive Officer on applications that may be granted. The AAAH Scholarship Committee recommendations will be final.

AAAH will notify successful applicants in writing. However, recipients must advise of their acceptance of the scholarship and agree to all the terms and conditions in writing within the timeframe provided.

AAAH will notify unsuccessful applicants in writing.

If an applicant forfeits or declines a scholarship offer, that place will be offered to another applicant.
